Getting settled into your new home doesn’t just mean unpacking. You also need to become familiar with your neighborhood, meet your community support team, and learn how to get assistance if something comes up.

Connect to the Internet

Internet providers vary by building. Detailed directions on how to connect will be sent to your SFSU email account upon check-in.

You can also visit the 'Residential Wi-Fi Services' page for instructions and support contact information.

Grab a Bite to Eat

After you're situated, be sure to grab a delicious meal at Yerba Buena Dining Hall or Monarca Dining Hall. Meals are available to residents with meal plans (activated at check-in) or for $11 per person + tax (credit or debit card only).

Dispose of Your Moving Boxes

After you unpack, dispose of your boxes in the debris bins located in your community. So that everyone's boxes will fit, please be sure to break down your boxes before tossing them into the bin.

Turn It In!

  • To avoid unnecessary charges at move-out, be sure to complete the ROOM CONDITION FORM within 3 days of your move-in date.
  • Complete the OCCUPANCY VERIFICATION FORM between by no later than August 28 to let us know you've arrived.

Every year, GatorFest! celebrates the return of the start of the academic year at SF State. GatorFest! is an opportunity to start strong, make new connections, join clubs & organizations, learn more about the University's resources and services, explore San Francisco, and celebrate being a Gator! 

All students are welcome!
