Summer Housing Application Process

APPLY EARLY! | The earlier you apply, the better chance you’ll have of getting your preferred community and room type.

Eligibility

Summer housing is available to students who are admitted to SFSU and have registered for classes in one of the following summer sessions:

R1 & R3 | 5 weeks
R2 | 8 weeks
R4 | 10 Weeks

MARCH 2026

TBD| Housing application opens at 9 AM

APRIL 2026

TBD| Move-in Confirmation form available on the Student Housing Portal and reservation notifications start 

MAY 2026

TBD | Last day to apply for summer housing 

TBD | Move-in Confirmation deadline 

TBD | Summer housing starts. Move-in day for all new summer residents and transition day for current spring residents.

AUGUST 2026

TBD | Summer housing ends. Move-out day for all new residents and transition day for summer to academic year housing.

How to Apply

  1. Accept your Admission Offer (AAO). We cannot reserve a space for you until you have accepted.
  2. Log into the Student Housing Portal using your SFSU Student ID number and password and click 'Apply for Housing' button to start your application.
  3. After submitting the application, pay the $100 initial payment. The initial payment includes a $70 credit applied to your first installment and a $30 non-refundable application fee. 

Things to Know

  • Your application will be considered complete and you will be eligible to receive a housing reservation once this payment is submitted.
  • Applicants with reservations will be required to sign a License Agreement and any applicable addendums once they submit their Move-in Confirmation form on the Student Housing Portal.
