Set up Your Space 

Have fun setting up your room just the way you like it. Adding your personal touch will create a sense of familiarity that will help you quickly become comfortable in your new space. Be sure to review the decorating reminders in the Community Living Standards Guide.

Connect to the Internet

Internet providers vary by building. Detailed directions on how to connect will be sent to your SF State email account upon check-in or you can visit the 'Residential Wi-Fi Services' page for more information.

Learn About Your Community

Wondering where the laundry rooms are, where to dispose of your trash, or where to pick up your mail? You can connect with your RA to show you personally or view the 'Living in the Residential Community' page.

Get to Know Your Support Staff

Your community has live-in student leaders and Resident Assistants (RA) who are here to assist you in connecting with other students, becoming more familiar with campus, and to help you manage conflicts or get through challenges.

Log into the Student Housing Portal to submit a:

  • ROOM CONDITION FORM | due 3 days after move-in
  • OCCUPANCY VERIFICATION FORM | (due February 7

Learn About Housing Policies

All residents are responsible for knowing and abiding by the policies and procedures contained in the COMMUNITY LIVING STANDARDS GUIDE, so be sure to review it thoroughly.

Get Coverage

Want to protect your personal belongings? Now you can apply for personal property insurance through GRADGUARD directly on the Student Housing Portal.

Get Assistance

If you have a cleanliness, maintenance, or repair issue with your space after you have moved in, click the 'Maintenance Issues' button above to submit a service request. Please Note: Students will not be assigned a new room for any of the above issues that can be resolved by Facilities Services.
