Room Decorating Contest

• Participants must currently live in on-campus housing. SF State employees are not eligible to participate.
• Only clear photos of bedrooms are eligible for submission. Photos of any other room or photos with people will not be considered.
• Permission from each roommate assigned to the bedroom submitted to the contest is needed for participation.
• Participants are required to like the contest post and follow SF State Housing on one of the following social media platforms (Facebook: sfstatehousing, Twitter: sfstatehousing or Instagram: sfstate_housing).
• All entries must comply with the Community Living Standards Guide.
• Any submission deemed inappropriate or that depict policy violations will be disqualified.
• Any submission with visible drug or alcohol paraphernalia, promotional materials, pornography or obscene material will be disqualified.
• Any submission with visable policy violations will be addressed through the Student Conduct Process.

• Rooms will be judged based on cleanliness, creativity, Gator pride, use of space, wall art, and overall design.
• 5 finalists for each neighborhood will be selected and asked to provide additional photos and/or a short video to move to the next stage of the contest. Instructions and deadline will be provided via email. Any finalist who does not provide the additional requirements within the given timeframe will not be eligible to win a prize. 
• Finalist rooms will be featured on Instagram during the final voting period. 
• 1 finalist from each neighborhood category (North, South, Central Group A and Central Group B) will win the $75 Amazon gift card grand prize and 3 finalists will win 1 of the 3 honorable mention prizes. (7 winners total)
• Winners will announced on social media. 

Contest participants agree to give San Francisco State University permission to use their name and to reproduce, modify, distribute, publish, or display any submitted photographs or videos (or any taken during this contest) in any form and on any media.

As part of the Room Decorating Contest, all prize winners will receive a photo shoot of their room. In order to claim their prize, winners must consent to allow University staff to take photos and videos of their room.

Please Note: Winners who fail to comply will forfeit the associated prize and an alternate winner will be selected.
