Mashouf Wellness Center

The Mashouf Wellness Center will be an exciting, state-of-the-art, 118,700 square-foot facility, supporting general well-being by providing recreation and wellness programs and activities for the SF State campus. The design intentionally reflects a multi-functionality of space to support “a little something for everyone”, providing recreation, wellness, and event space to support activities and programs appealing to our diverse student body.

Landscape Improvements

In an ongoing effort to improve and beautify our community, Employee & Family Housing would like to inform you that we will be starting landscape improvements to several blocks of University Park North. The project is aimed to increase environmental value by installing native and habitat plantings, increase functionality, and further reduce water use by reducing lawns.

Student Housing & Creative Arts Building

San Francisco State University has begun construction on two important projects — a mixed-use, student housing development and a new academic building for the Creative Arts. The student housing will be located on Holloway Avenue between Cardenas and Varela Avenues. The Creative Arts building will be located on Tapia Drive at the intersection of Font Boulevard and Holloway Avenue. Construction on the Creative Arts building is expected to take about 24 months, beginning June 2018 with completion expected in spring 2020.


If you lose your keys or lock yourself out, proceed to the Community Front Desk of your assigned building to request a temporary key. Proper ID will be required to confirm identification and occupancy.

Unfurnished Bed Space Program

The unfurnished bed space program is availabe at University Park North (UPN). It provides housing accommodations in one, two and three-bedroom apartments to second-year, junior, senior and grad students. These bed space accommodations are provided without furniture or internet/cable service.

Students who are requesting the unfurnished bed space program must make arrangements to bring their own furniture and connect directly with internet and cable providers. Utilities are included in the unfurnished bed space program. Parking is not included. 

Renters Insurance

As a benefit of living on campus, residents will have $100,000 in liability insurance provided for them through SF State and GradGuard. Liability coverage is now included in your housing fees and protects you financially from unintentional damage due to fire, water and other causes of loss.
