Important Reminders

 

 

Don't come to move-in if you are sick

DON'T COME TO CAMPUS IF YOU'RE SICK

If you or your move-in guests are feeling sick or displaying symptoms of COVID-19, contact the Student Housing Office to reschedule your move-in.

Hand truck

BRING YOUR OWN DOLLY OR HAND TRUCK

We encourage you to bring your own dolly or hand truck to assist with moving your belongings.

2 guests and 1 car max

LARGE VEHICLES CANNOT BE ACCOMMODATED

Lot 20 on State Drive has a max clearance of 6’8”. Therefore, large trucks, trailers, or recreational vehicles cannot be accommodated.

Please contact the Student Housing Office at housing@sfsu.edu if you are running late and will arrive outside the move-in timeframe. 

What to Do

CHECK-IN LOCATION

Towers Conference Center at 796 State Drive. [VIEW GOOGLE MAP]

UNLOADING LOCATION

Top level of Lot 20 on State Drive. [VIEW GOOGLE MAP]

STEP 1 | CHECK-IN & PICK UP YOUR KEYS

  • Drive to Lot 19 and temporarily park. 
  • Proceed to the check-in area to receive your keys, move-in packet, and parking hang tag.

STEP 2 | UNLOAD YOUR VEHICLE

  • Return to your vehicle and drive to the top level of Lot 20.
  • Park your vehicle and fill out the bin rental card on the hang tag you received at check-in.
  • Hand the bin rental card and your ID to staff at the bin rental location to rent a moving bin. 1 bin can be checked out for a maximum of 1 hour. Please Note: There is an $85 charge for any bins that are not returned.
  • Place the unloading zone permit in your vehicle according to the instructions on the permit.
  • Unload your belongings.

STEP 3 | MOVE YOUR VEHICLE TO LONG TERM PARKING

After unloading your belongings, return your moving bin to the bin rental location and move your vehicle to any available parking space on the lower levels in Lot 20 or to street parking.

Any available street parking near your building.

  • Park in any available street parking near Manzanita Square.
  • Proceed to the check-in area to receive your keys, move-in packet, and parking hang tag.

STEP 2 | UNLOAD YOUR VEHICLE

  • Return to your vehicle* and fill out the unloading zone permit.
  • Place the unloading zone permit in your vehicle according to the instructions on the permit.
  • Unload your belongings.

*If you are a resident of UPS, you may wish to move your vehicle closer to any available street parking near your building. 

STEP 3 | MOVE YOUR VEHICLE TO LONG TERM PARKING

After unloading your belongings, move your vehicle to any available parking space on the lower levels in Lot 20 or to street parking.

Any available street parking on Buckingham Way

STEP 1 | CHECK-IN & PICK UP YOUR KEYS

  • Park in any available street parking near the University Park North high-rises.
  • Proceed to the check-in area to receive your keys, move-in packet, and parking hang tag.

STEP 2 | UNLOAD YOUR VEHICLE

  • Fill out the bin rental card on the hang tag you received at check-in.

Things to Know

CHECK-IN

ITEMS REQUIRED | Your SF State ID –OR– government-issued ID –AND– a screen shot of your room assignment information from the Student Housing Portal . 

REMINDERS 

  • A family member or friend CANNOT check-in for you.
  • Your meal plan (if applicable) will be activated at check-in.

PARKING

  • Parking in Lot 20 is free on Move-in Day (January 27th) for vehicles with the unloading zone parking permit (provided at check-in).
  • Be sure to follow all parking restrictions as SF State is not responsible for any parking violations.
