Move-in FAQs

Unless pre-approved, all students are required to move in during their scheduled move-in appointment only.

Moving bins will not be available for Summer Move-in. We recommend that you bring your own dolly or hand truck to assist with moving your belongings to your apartment. 

Due to a max clearance of 6’8”, large trucks, trailers, or recreational vehicles cannot be accommodated in Lot 20 or the Manzanita Square parking garage.

No. Parking fees are in effect during move-in. Be sure to follow all parking restrictions as SF State is not responsible for any parking violations.

Your SF State ID card is needed for check-in on Move-in Day. If you have not yet received your SF State ID, you can use a government-issued ID to check-in, but you should request your ID as soon as possible. To request your SF State ID and for pick-up location information, visit the OneCard Office.

Face coverings are strongly recommended, but not required during the move-in process. View the Move-in Day 'Health & Safety Requirements' page and the 'Housing COVID-19 Information' page for more information.

COVID-19 test results are not required for move-in.

Vaccinations will not be required for those providing assistance, however, for preventative measures we highly recommend that they are.
